MUGA, Padel Turf, Synthetic Tennis courts…

…Fake Turf Cricket wickets. The options are endless.

Artificial grass, also known as synthetic turf or to many Astro turf, offers a versatile solution for a variety of applications. From sports facilities to residential landscapes, the uses for artificial grass are diverse and practical.

AstroTurf is in fact a brand name. The origin of artificial grass can be traced back to the late 1960s when it made its debut at the Houston Astrodome, the pioneering covered sports stadium in the USA. This innovative surface was aptly named Astroturf, in homage to its inaugural installation location. The primary aim behind introducing this artificial grass was to revolutionize sports playing fields and provide a durable, all-weather alternative to natural turf. Wow has artificial turf come on a lot since then.

Multi-Use Games Areas (MUGAs) benefit greatly from artificial grass surfaces, providing a durable and low-maintenance option for various sports activities. These sports surfaces help to encourage more year round sport access for kids and adults alike.

For Padel courts and tennis facilities, artificial turf provides a consistent playing surface that requires minimal upkeep compared to natural grass or clay courts.

Hockey astroturf (fake grass, artificial turf – call it what you like) is preferred by many hockey players for its smooth and fast-playing characteristics. It changed the game from the days it was played on a muddy grass field!

In cricket grounds, artificial grass can be used to create practice pitches that simulate real match conditions. The durability of synthetic turf makes it an excellent choice for high-traffic areas like cricket wickets.

Gym flooring is another popular application, offering a cushioned surface ideal for prowler sled tracks, sprint tracks, and gym workouts.

Overall, the versatility and durability of artificial grass makes it an attractive and cost effective option for various recreational and sports applications.
